Rajendra Sahu, former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA, addressed reporters during a gathering of party leaders after recent electoral setbacks, acknowledging the defeat but rejecting any negativity around the meeting. “We have lost, and no one can mock us for that,” Sahu said, stressing that the leaders’ meet was simply for friendship and unity, not anything negative or divisive. He noted that such gatherings are not new, mentioning past occasions when they had met socially, including now before the New Year. Sahu’s candid remarks reflect ongoing discussions among BJD veterans about strengthening the organisation and encouraging youth leadership within the party during this period of political reflection.
