Panic gripped Batagarh village under Sanakhemundi block of Ganjam district after an unidentified animal allegedly attacked livestock during the night. As many as 13 goats and sheep were found dead on Friday morning, triggering fear among villagers.

Following the incident, a Veterinary Officer along with a team reached the spot and sent the carcasses for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigation suggests that the animals may have been killed in an attack by a wild animal.

Villagers reported that the livestock were found lying dead in the morning, raising concerns over safety and possible repeat attacks. Further investigation is underway to confirm the exact cause and identify the animal responsible.
