Meghna Sahu, a transgender rights worker from Kinnar Adhikar, has warned that the community will no longer remain silent and will resort to an indefinite hunger strike and call a Bhubaneswar bandh (city shutdown) if justice is not delivered for Anjali, a transgender person brutally stabbed to death near Sifa Gate on the Bhubaneswar outskirts earlier this week. The protest is part of rising outrage among Kinnar activists demanding the arrest of the killer and strong protection for their community after the gruesome killing of Anjali alias Sona near Pipili police limits on National Highway-316.
