In a surprising turn of events, a theft accused managed to escape from the Chandaka Police Station in Bhubaneswar on October 13, 2025. The individual, identified as Raja from West Bengal, was under interrogation for his involvement in an iPhone theft case. Reports indicate that Raja feigned illness and, while being escorted to the bathroom, pushed aside two constables and fled the scene. The incident has raised serious concerns about the security protocols at the police station. Authorities have initiated a manhunt to apprehend the escapee and are reviewing internal security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
