After Koraput coffee won national attention, the district has now surprised everyone with black turmeric cultivation. With support from OUAT, woman farmer Laxmi Naik has successfully grown black turmeric in her field. The rare variety is expected to fetch over ₹1,000 per kg in the market and is known for its rich medicinal properties, opening new income opportunities for tribal farmers in the region.
