Special Story: ‘Kaundilya’: India Revives 5th-Century Stitched Ship Heritage

କତା ଦଉଡିରେ ସିଲେଇ ହୋଇଛି ଜାହଜକୌଣ୍ଡିଲ୍ୟ। ନଡିଆ କତାବି ବ୍ୟବହାର ହୋଇଛି। ଏଥିସହ ପ୍ରାକୃତିକ ଉପାୟରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ପଲିମର ବ୍ୟବହାର ହୋଇଛି। ପୁରା ଜାହଜଟିପାରମ୍ପରିକ ପଦ୍ଧତିରେ ସିଲେଇ ହୋଇଛି। ସମୁଦ୍ରର ଗଭୀର ଜଳରାଶିରେ ଚାଲୁଥିବା ଏ ଜାହଜ ଉପରେ ଟିକେନଜର ପକାନ୍ତୁ। ପଞ୍ଚମ ଶତାବ୍ଦିର ଏହି ଜାହଜରେ ଅଜନ୍ତା ଗୁମ୍ଫାର ଚିତ୍ର ରହିଛି। ଏଭଳି ଏକ ଜାହଜରପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ନେଇ ୨୦୨୩ରେ ଏକ ପରିକଳ୍ପନା ହୋଇଥିଲା।

The ship has been stitched together using coir ropes, with coconut fiber also extensively used in its construction. Along with this, a naturally prepared polymer has been applied. The entire vessel has been assembled using traditional stitching techniques.
