Roopkund, known as the Skeleton Lake, is a mysterious glacial lake situated at around 5,000 meters in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. From afar, it looks beautiful, but as the ice melts each year, hundreds of human skeletons—estimated between 600 and 800—become visible in the water and surrounding areas.
