In the aftermath of violent clashes during the Durga idol immersion procession in Cuttack's Dargha Bazar area, the Commissionerate Police have initiated house-to-house searches to apprehend individuals involved in the unrest. The violence, which erupted over objections to loud music during the procession, led to injuries among several individuals, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishikesh Khilari. Authorities have arrested multiple suspects and detained over 80 individuals for questioning. The Odisha government imposed a 36-hour curfew and suspended internet services to prevent the spread of rumors and maintain public order.
