Police have busted a major cattle smuggling racket while cattle were being transported from Mayurbhanj district to West Bengal. The crackdown took place on National Highway-49 near Jharpokharia, where the illegal consignment was intercepted.

During the operation, police seized more than 200 cattle and arrested seven members of the smuggling mafia. The action has exposed a large inter-state cattle trafficking network operating through the region.

The seized cattle and the arrested accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to trace the links of the racket and identify others involved in the smuggling operation.
