In his latest Mann Ki Baat radio address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled and honoured the contributions of Odisha’s freedom fighter Parbati Giri, highlighting her role in India’s struggle for independence and her lifelong dedication to social service. Born in Odisha, Giri joined the Quit India Movement at age 16 and later devoted herself to welfare work including running orphanages. The Prime Minister stated that her inspiring life will continue to guide future generations.
