A major tragedy was reported during the tourism season as two brothers drowned while on a picnic at Sitakund waterfall, located at the foothills of the Similipal Sanctuary near Baripada. The incident occurred today when a group from Bhadrak district had visited the area for a picnic.

According to information, the two youths entered the water at Sitakund for bathing but were unable to come out. People present at the spot failed to provide immediate assistance.
