Odisha’s Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has indicated that the existing Legislative Assembly building will not be demolished but preserved as a museum while plans are in place to build a new Legislature complex that includes a modern 300-seat Odisha Legislative Assembly and associated governance infrastructure on space between the current Lok Seva Bhawan and Legislative Assembly, as part of an integrated project to meet future requirements beyond the present 147 seats, which may rise to about 200 after delimitation, with the new facility designed to serve for decades and support future legislative council (Vidhan Parishad) formation and expanded governance needs.
