Suresh Pujari, Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, has criticised the previous Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government over its handling of the Mahanadi inter-state river water dispute with Chhattisgarh. The dispute concerns rights to the river’s water and has been a longstanding issue between the two states. Pujari brought “serious allegations” against the former government’s positions on the matter while speaking about Odisha’s approach to the water dispute issue.
