Odisha Steel & Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena has announced that he will not contest the upcoming elections and will instead vacate his electoral seat for younger leaders, in a major political decision ahead of the polls. The veteran BJP leader, who will turn 60 next year, told OTV that he has no desire to fight another election and wants the youth to move forward in leadership roles.

Speaking exclusively to OTV, Minister Jena said that although he won’t contest, he will continue to serve the party by taking on organizational and mentorship responsibilities. He emphasized that the time has come for younger party workers to step up and lead.
