The Navanirman Krushak Sangathan has called for an 8-hour Odisha bandh tomorrow from 6 AM to 2 PM, protesting irregularities in paddy procurement, excessive cuts under moisture certificates, and Tata Power's arbitrary electricity tariffs. The Congress has officially extended support to the bandh, with PCC President Bhakta Charan Das directing all district units to back the shutdown. Meanwhile, the BJP has dismissed the agitation as a "fake farmers' protest," alleging the Congress is exploiting it due to its own weakness. BJP spokesperson Manoj Mohapatra claimed farmers are now encouraged under the Mohan Majhi government and that the bandh will have no significant impact.
