With Nipah virus cases increasing in West Bengal, concern has grown in neighbouring Odisha. In response, the Odisha Health Minister has convened an important review meeting to assess preparedness and precautionary measures.

The meeting will be held in the afternoon at Lok Seva Bhawan, with the Health Department Secretary and senior officials in attendance. Discussions will focus on vigilance, preventive steps, and readiness to deal with any possible situation related to the Nipah virus.

Meanwhile, the Director of Public Health has clarified that no Nipah virus cases have been detected in Odisha so far. The virus has not spread to the state yet, and people need not panic, the official stated.
