In the high‑profile Odia actress Nikita murder case, family members have maintained that her husband Lipan Sahu killed her due to a money dispute, with Nikita’s mother saying, “My son‑in‑law didn’t have money, and my daughter managed money. Because she didn’t give him money, he pushed my daughter off the terrace and killed her.” Nikita (Lakshmipriya Behera) suffered severe injuries after the fall from the terrace of her house in Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack in January 2019 and later died at a private hospital, leading to a police case and a long legal battle.
