In a dramatic development, a newlywed bride and her lover were detained from a rented house in the Professorpara area of Sambalpur. Police have kept both in custody and are questioning them.

Earlier, the lover had allegedly fled with the bride after threatening the groom at gunpoint. The incident reportedly took place near Badabandh under Tarbha police limits, where the lover took her away in what witnesses described as a “filmy style” escape.

Following the complaint, police traced the duo to a rented accommodation in Sambalpur and detained them for further investigation.
