With just two days left for New Year, the crowd of devotees is steadily increasing in Shreekhetra, Puri. Long queues are being seen as devotees gather in large numbers to have darshan of Lord Jagannath at the Shree Mandir.

As footfall is expected to peak on December 31 and January 1, special security arrangements have been put in place. Barricading has been done from Shreenahar to Bagala Dharamshala to regulate crowd movement.

Security has been tightened from the Shree Mandir to the sea beach, with 25 platoons of force deployed. Puri SP Prateek Singh has informed that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and smooth movement of devotees during the New Year period.
