Village-level Nari Adalat will be established across Odisha to address complaints and issues related to women, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced. These village-based forums will serve as the first centre for resolving women’s grievances through mediation and dialogue.

According to Pravati Parida, women will run the village mediation centres and act as members of the village justice system. They will receive proper training and will be officially identified as Nyaya Sakhi. The Nari Adalat will function as the primary platform for addressing complaints concerning women.

The initiative will be implemented in Odisha with 100 per cent central funding. The aim is to strengthen access to justice for women at the grassroots level and ensure timely resolution of their problems within the village framework.
