A tragic road accident occurred on NH-16 near Gangapada under Infovalley Police Station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, leaving a mother dead and her young son critically injured. The woman lost her balance and fell off her scooter, and a high-speed SUV approaching from behind ran over her, leading to her immediate death at the scene.

The police and emergency teams rushed the critically injured child to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for urgent treatment, where he remains under medical care. The shocking accident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety on the busy National Highway connecting major cities in Odisha.
