An allegation of rape followed by murder has emerged after the body of a 10-year-old minor girl was recovered from a dense forest under Chandabali Police Station in Bhadrak district, Odisha. The minor had left home saying she was going to school but did not return.

Family members alleged that, based on the surrounding circumstances, the minor was sexually assaulted and then killed. Following the incident, local residents staged a protest by burning tyres and blocking the road, demanding justice.

The body was recovered after a search was launched when the girl failed to return home. As of now, no official response has been received from the police regarding the incident.
