Police have launched a major crackdown on cow smuggling mafia involved in illegal cattle trafficking for a long time. The operation, which began in Keonjhar, has now expanded to more than five districts. After a raid at the house of Sheikh Tajuddin in Bhadrak, several hidden links of the smuggling network have come to light. The mafia had spread its network from Keonjhar to Bhadrak, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj, and police are now seizing assets linked to the racket.
