An active low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, coupled with a trough line extending from Gangetic West Bengal to North Coastal Odisha, has altered the weather mood across Odisha since yesterday. Several districts including Subarnapur district, Koraput district and Bargarh district witnessed hailstorm and heavy rain causing damage.

Heavy rain lashed the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack this afternoon. Strong winds led to reports of uprooted trees in parts of the capital. In Badamba, a Jatra pendal collapsed due to sudden storm, injuring two persons.
