Members of a Jatra Committee have reacted strongly to a situation where an artist did not turn up for a scheduled performance, saying that the organiser (party owner) is responsible for ensuring artist attendance. In their statement, committee members said that if an artiste fails to arrive, the party owner must explain why, and that money paid to the party (advance/fees) should be held until the matter is resolved. This reflects growing tension and accountability issues within the Jatra (folk theatre) community.
