More shocking details are emerging from the KISS campus following the student death incident. During an inspection, the Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR), along with two members, found several lapses in student welfare while conducting an on-ground investigation.

From food quality to sleeping arrangements, multiple shortcomings were observed. Students were reportedly being served only flattened rice and sugar for breakfast, while lunch consisted of rice and dalma. However, the food menu displayed on the KISS website reportedly differs from what is being served on the ground.

The inspection team also flagged unhealthy living conditions and instances of indiscipline among students. Taking note of these issues, the OSCPCR Chairperson stated that a detailed follow-up investigation will be conducted to further probe the matter.
