Arun Sahu, a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator, strongly criticised the Union Budget 2026-27 process, saying it fails to connect with ordinary citizens despite its large size. According to Sahu, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may be pleased with the budget internally, but the common people are unaware of its benefits or provisions. He said that even if 80 % of people today were asked about the budget, they wouldn’t understand it, and implied that the government is out of touch with public needs.
