Odisha’s Higher Education Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, was seen riding a jet ski as part of a public demonstration related to water safety. He said that the government will provide training to girls on how to operate jet skis and handle watercraft, with the aim of reducing drowning deaths in water bodies across the state. This initiative follows ongoing concerns over high rates of water‑related fatalities, with thousands of drowning deaths reported in Odisha in recent years.
