In a significant High Court directive against the misuse and incorrect use of the national emblem and national symbols, a panel will be formed with senior officials from police, education, panchayati raj and urban development departments. The court has directed that a portal be opened to receive citizen complaints about any incorrect or unauthorised use of national symbols — including the Lion Capital of Ashoka and the motto “Satyameva Jayate” — and requires corrective action within six weeks of receiving grievances.
