In Bhubaneswar’s Salia Sahi neighborhood, excise officials busted an illegal country liquor operation being run secretly within residential homes. The distillery was concealed in hidden chambers inside houses, accessed through secret passages.

Hundreds of litres of country liquor and several quintals of fermented raw materials were seized and destroyed during the raid, which was led by Excise Superintendent Debashis Patel. The owner fled before the operation.

This raid is part of an intensified crackdown ahead of the festive season. Earlier in the year, another similar unit in Salia Sahi was dismantled under Operation Prahaar.
