Setting a powerful example, the daughters of Gangadhar Samantray from Nabarangpur fulfilled their father’s last wish by performing his last rites after his demise. The daughters lit the funeral pyre (Mukhaagni) and later carried out the Shraddha rituals, traditionally performed by male family members.
