In a shocking incident, a firearm was recovered from a Class 9 student inside a school in Odisha’s Kendrapara district. The incident took place at a government high school under the Kudangiri police station limits.

According to sources, the mathematics teacher noticed the student behaving distractedly during class. On checking, a gun was found concealed at the student’s waist. Following a complaint by the headmaster, the police seized the firearm and sent it for forensic examination.

The police have taken the student into custody and placed him in a correction home while further investigation into the matter is underway.
