Actor-turned-politician and TVK chief Vijay Thalapathy appeared before the CBI office in New Delhi today and faced six hours of marathon questioning in connection with a major stampede case. After the prolonged interrogation, he left the CBI office in the evening. No formal conclusion was announced following the questioning.

According to available information, during the interrogation Vijay Thalapathy told the CBI that neither he nor his party was responsible for the Karur stampede. He also stated that he had left the venue to avoid an accident. Sources indicate that the CBI may summon him again, possibly as early as tomorrow, for further questioning.
