A primary school teacher in Boudh district’s Harbhanga block, Suramani Mallik of Jharakhmana Primary School, is facing strict administrative action after allegedly coming to school in an intoxicated state.

The Block Education Officer (BEO) has withheld his one-day salary, issued a show-cause notice, and initiated a departmental investigation into the misconduct. No suspension order has been issued so far.

Authorities stated that such behaviour by a teacher on duty is unacceptable and undermines the learning environment for students. The inquiry will determine further action based on the teacher’s response and findings.
