BJP MLA Says BJD Has No Authority on Alcohol Policy; Govt Begins Tetra Pack Liquor Plan

According to BJP legislator Saroj Padhi, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) does not have the authority to dictate liquor policy in Odisha. Padhi criticised the ruling party, saying that under former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s government, the state had opened liquor shops in every panchayat, and despite promises from past BJD administrations to ban alcohol, comprehensive prohibition was never implemented.
