In a major disciplinary action, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Supremo Naveen Patnaik has suspended two party MLAs over allegations of anti-party activities. The suspended leaders are Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud and Patkura MLA Arabinda Mahapatra.

The BJD stated that action was taken after both leaders were found to be involved in activities against party interests. Based on the information and evidence received, the party president initiated disciplinary measures against them.

According to the party, the suspension follows internal assessment and verification of facts, after which Naveen Patnaik approved the action in his capacity as BJD president.
