BJD senior leader Latika Pradhan has stirred fresh controversy within the party by alleging that the Biju Janata Dal was deliberately made to lose 10 seats in Ganjam district during the 2024 elections. She claimed that this setback prevented Naveen Patnaik from returning as Chief Minister.

Latika Pradhan stated that despite repeated warnings, no corrective steps were taken. She alleged that even in confirmed winning seats, BJD candidates were defeated due to failures by those entrusted with responsibility.

Targeting the then Ganjam district in-charge during the elections, Manas Mangaraj, Latika questioned his role and accountability, further intensifying internal unrest within the party.
