Mohana, Gajapati, Odisha: More than a hundred ASHA workers staged a protest sit-in at the Government Basabhavan office in Mohana today, demanding the replacement of the medical in-charge, Dr Jay Panda, and resolution of long-standing grievances. The workers locked the office as part of their agitation, alleging that for over three years they have not received proper pay/dues despite working under Mohana Medical and that the medical in-charge has been involved in various corrupt practices. According to the protesters, repeated complaints have yielded no solution, forcing them to resort to today’s action.
