The Odisha government will procure all paddy by March 31 and ensure that no procurement token lapses, the Supply Minister informed the Assembly. Paddy is being purchased at ₹3,100 per quintal as promised during the elections. So far, 64.10 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured from 15 lakh farmers, with payments amounting to ₹18,586 crore.

The Minister stated that every farmer’s produce is now being procured and alleged attempts are being made to defame the government. He also said that not a single farmer suicide has been reported.
