Teachers’ agitation is already underway in Odisha, with the protesting teachers’ association stating that they are currently waiting for the government’s decision on the issue. They said if the government takes what they call a wrong decision, the agitation will be intensified further.

The agitating teachers said they will hold dharna in front of Block Education Officer (BEO) offices and, if necessary, will be forced to lock schools as part of the ongoing protest. They asserted that the responsibility for any such situation will lie with the state government.

Holding the government accountable, the teachers claimed that around 40 lakh students in Odisha have already been deprived of education due to the present situation. The association alleged that government decisions are directly impacting students’ academic activities.
