Normal life came to a halt across Odisha on Wednesday as an 8-hour statewide bandh called by the Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan disrupted transport and commercial activities from early morning. Roads were blocked with burning tyres, shops remained shut, and public transport services were suspended in several districts including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jeypore and Balangir. The bandh was observed from 6 AM to 2 PM, though protesters allowed ambulances to pass.
