India and the European Union (EU) are set to seal a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) today. The major deal is being viewed as a significant economic move, especially at a time when the EU is facing concerns over possible US tariff hikes. The agreement is expected to reshape trade relations between India and the EU.

One of the key highlights of the proposed deal is the possibility of a sharp reduction in import duties on cars imported from the European Union. Reports suggest that the import tariff on EU-made cars could come down drastically from 110 per cent to around 40 per cent, which may make foreign cars more affordable in the Indian market.
