A wild tiger was rescued last night after being caught in a hunter’s trap inside the dense jungles of Karatapata beat under Anugul Range, Odisha. Forest officials — alerted by locals hearing the animal’s roar — quickly reached the spot with drone-camera support, tranquilised the big cat and carried out a successful rescue. The tiger has now been shifted to Kulasinga Nursery for treatment and observation.

This rescue underscores the constant threat wild animals face from illegal traps in certain forest pockets, but also highlights the prompt action and dedication of the Forest Department and local community in safeguarding wildlife.
