A statewide Odisha Bandh has been called for tomorrow by the Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan, and the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee has announced its support to the shutdown. PCC President Bhakta Charan Das informed that the Congress will back the bandh across the state in protest against several public issues.

According to Bhakta Charan Das, Congress has been agitating statewide over irregularities in paddy procurement, excessive penalties imposed in the name of vehicle Pollution Under Control certificates, alleged arbitrary electricity tariff hikes by Tata Power, and the discontinuation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He said these issues are directly affecting the common people of Odisha.
