Boita Bandana Reflects Odisha’s Rich Maritime Heritage: CM Mohan Charan Majhi

‘ବୋଇତ ବନ୍ଦାଣ ହେଉଛି ଆମର ସମୃଦ୍ଧ ନୌବାଣିଜ୍ୟ ପରମ୍ପରା। ଆମ ସାଧବ ପୁଅ ବିପଦଜନକ ଭାବେ ବେପାର ବଣିଜ କରିବାକୁ ସମୁଦ୍ରରେ ନୌକାରେ ଯାତ୍ରା କରିଥାନ୍ତି। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ଦେବାଦେବୀଙ୍କୁ ସୁମରଣା କରି ସାଧବ ବୋହୂ ଓ ଝିଅମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ମେଲାଣି ଦେଇଥାନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ଏହା ଆମ ସାମାଜିକ, ଅର୍ଥନୈତିକ ଓ ଧାର୍ମୀୟ ଭାବନାର ମିଳନ ।’ ପାରାଦୀପରେ ବୋଇତ ବନ୍ଦାଣ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ ଯୋଗ ଦେଇ ଏପରି କହିଛନ୍ତି ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ମୋହନ ଚରଣ ମାଝୀ।
“Boita Bandana is a symbol of our prosperous maritime trade tradition. Our Sadhaba ancestors once undertook dangerous sea voyages for trade. On this day, their wives and daughters offered prayers and send-offs with devotion. Hence, the festival represents a confluence of our social, economic, and spiritual values,” said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while attending the Boita Bandana celebration at Paradip.
