A fresh political storm has erupted in Odisha after BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra remarked that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has become weak and may need “saline” [a metaphor for life support] to survive. He said the BJP does not want BJD to sink and would provide saline if required, a statement that intensified political reactions.
